I use it to keep a marine battery charged. I'm going to use it to power low voltage lighting in my apartment (see the LED light album). I spent under $100 on this. A friend gave me the solar panels (I had to repair the aluminum frames). The inverter and battery were also gifts. I built the current and voltage meter. The charge controller was the most expensive item at $35.
