trinocular imaging

Why is there no trinocular imaging technology? Three image sensors arranged equidistant from each other should solve the problem of ambiguity in binocular systems of discriminating objects that are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the stereo base in a binocular system.

This refers to the "screen door" effect, where sometimes when you walk up to the screen door your eyes have trouble figuring out where to triangulate on the screen. It boggles your eyes for a bit and your can't see how far away from your face the screen is.
