- Sn 62%/Pb 36%/Ag 2%. tin/lead/silver-bearing This may be used as a general purpose solder but the addition of silver makes it useful for soldering silver solder pads as found on capacitors, piezoelectric transducers, and ceramics. Melting point: (eutectic) 179 °C
- 60/40
- Sn 60%/Pb 40%. Sn60, ASTM60A, ASTM60B. This is a cheap, general purpose solder. It tends to erode silver and gold contacts (use 62/36/2 instead). Melting point: (solidus/liquidus) 183/190 °C
